This is from the era before Celsius was proven to be a scam.
I’m proud of how accurate my prediction was…
Except for the timing – I foresaw it going bust in 2 years, but it went down in the next few months.

My point?
A new era of CEXs and lending platforms will come.
People will promise you “yield” if you “stake” your Bitcoin.
If you’re here during the bear market, remember the core principles of self-custody and why you bought in the first place.
A 5% yield is not sufficient to take a 100% downside risk. No yield is sufficient to risk a deflationary asset for.
Happy HODLing!

Checking johnsonder’s history is kinda interesting. He was active in the Celsius sub until shit went down. He comments in another post that he lost money on Voyager too. Looks like he [learned his lesson](https://www.reddit.com/r/Invest_Voyager/comments/10i36bj/this_means_that_if_you_had_1_bitcoin_at_the_time/j5g4oxy/?context=3):

I’m so glad I always felt like you, op, and stayed away from yield sites, as tempting as they were. If ‘living in fear’ = keeping your stack, I’ll take it.
“Enjoy living the rest of your life in fear” lol enjoy living the rest of your life in poverty.
The Pareto distribution in action folks.
