When you see ‘Web 3’, what is your first thought? Lots of people think it is a fraud.

I was writing an App Review of a decentralized social app on Lemmy, including their official website link, of course. Someone commented on my post and said, ‘I have looked into their blog post page, and the most recent blog’s title contains ‘Web 3′ as two words, which is a big red flag and a no-go for me.’

**I mean y do some people still think that cryptos, web3, or decentralized stuff are fraudulent?**

To me, decentralized means equality, democracy, fairness, and transparency. It is a new concept, but it becomes acceptable once you understand how Bitcoin works.

Btw, the application I recommended was inspired by the BitTorrent network, in case the moderator says I am talking about off-topic stuff.

  1. Have you been here for the past few years? Shitcoiners use the term “blockchain” or “web3” constantly for one simple reason. To sell their scam token.

Yes and they are, at least 99% of time, **correct**.

    >inspired by the BitTorrent network, in case the moderator says I am talking about off-topic stuff

You do realize, this is r/Bitcoin, not r/qBittorrent, right? Why exactly it isn’t an off-topic here?
